  • A current Cherry Studio release
  • A dedicated HiLinkup API key
  • A successful Quickstart request

Provider settings

Open model provider settings

Open Cherry Studio settings and select Model services or Model providers.

Add a custom provider

Choose an OpenAI-compatible provider and name it HiLinkup.

Enter credentials

Paste the API key and https://api.hilinkup.com/v1. Do not append /chat/completions.

Test the connection

Use the provider’s connection check. A successful model refresh also confirms the connection.

Sync or add a model

Refresh models or manually add an exact data[].id from /v1/models.

Start a new chat

Select the model and ask it to reply with HiLinkup connected.

Troubleshooting

Test the same key with /v1/models. If cURL works, inspect the Cherry Studio API URL for missing or duplicate /v1.
Add an exact model ID manually. Custom providers are not always auto-discovered.
Confirm the model supports vision and enable the image or vision capability in the model settings.
Disable streaming temporarily and test a short message. Update Cherry Studio and review proxy or firewall settings.
Cherry Studio stores provider settings locally. Use it only on trusted, encrypted devices and revoke the key if the device or configuration is exposed.
